Steering coupler replaces the rubber rag joint and the upper steering u-joint. Much stronger and more positive in feel. If you run larger than 33" tires or have a body lift of more than 1", this is much needed. These joints are for power steering and not manual.
Please measure before ordering.
If an 11/16" 12 point box end wrench fits snug on the splines of the steering box input shaft then you have a '77-'80 Scout II box and need a 3/4"x30 steering joint.
If an 11/16" 12 point box end wrench does not fit over the splines of the steering box input shaft then you have a '71-'77 Scout II box and need a 13/16" x 36 steering joint. Or if you have calipers, the measurement on the input splines of the steering box should be 0.80 inches in diameter.
